Former sports psycologist. National mental football coach.

Hans-Dieter Hermann is a sports psychologist who was chosen by the coach of the German national football team, Juergen Klinsmann, to be responsible for the team’s mental preparation in 2006 and 2008. Topics: motivation, team-building, high performance.

Hermann calls his methods "Optimisation Psychology", which aim to increase mental stability and increase self-confidence.

Hans-Dieter Hermann studied psychology at the universities of Antwerp and Wurzburg. He then specialised in sports psychology, and worked in various sports with national teams, including football teams, gymnasts and the Austrian skiing team.

He also works with senior business executives improving performance and motivation, building teams and developing self-confidence. He lectures at the University of Heidelberg Institute for Sport Science and at the Erding Institute for Applied Management.

In 2009 he published his latest book "Mentales Training" ("Mental Training"), which covers topics such as Leadership, Motivation and Teambuilding and shows how business executives can learn the secrets of success from high-performance athletes.
